ZyMōt™ ICSI Sperm Separation Device (Box of 3 or 10)
First of their kind, and FDA approved, ZyMōt™ ICSI and ZyMōt™ Multi Sperm Separation Devices deliver the best performing sperm for use in ICSI, IUI and IVF procedures.
The selection of healthy sperm is critical to the success of assisted reproduction procedures (ICSI, IUI, IVF). Yet the most commonly used methods of selecting sperm rely on centrifugation, which has been proven to cause DNA damage and decreased motility, two of the most common factors in failed fertilization, increased risk of abnormal embryo development and early loss of pregnancy.
Developed by Dr. Utkan Demirci and his team at the Demirci BAMM Labs at Harvard Medical School/Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Stanford Medicine, ZyMōt devices mimic nature to facilitate the separation and preparation of the best performing sperm for ART procedures, while eliminating the need for time-consuming sample preparation and sperm damaging centrifugation. Even low-quality semen samples have been shown to yield collected samples that demonstrate a high concentration of progressively motile sperm, with normal morphology.
ZyMōt Sperm Separation Devices can be used in nearly any clinical setting and require no sample preparation, no extensive training and fewer steps to complete, with less materials required. Incredibly efficient and scalable, ZyMōt devices can reduce hands-on tech time by as much as 80% when compared to density gradient centrifugation, while making it incredibly easy to collect more of the healthiest and best performing sperm for use in ART procedures.
The ZyMōt ICSI has 5 micro channels; each accommodating 2μL of semen. More than one micro channel is available to accommodate multiple separations. Each channel has an inlet port for applying the semen sample and an outlet port for collecting the motile sperm. The ports are connected by a fluid-filled micro channel in which the separating occurs. Untreated semen is added through the inlet port. After a period of time, the separated sperm are collected from the outlet port.
Separates healthy, normal morphology sperm from compromised sperm present in a semen sample.
Sperm separated in volumes required for ICSI, IUI & IVF procedures.
No sample prep.
No extensive training.
No expensive equipment.
Lower ROS and DNA fragmentation.
Higher chromatin integrity.
Allows for the standardization of sperm separation and preparation processes for ART procedures.
Lower DNA Fragmentation
Comparison of DNA FRAGMENTATION between the raw specimen and the semen processed by density gradient centrifugation and by ZyMōt ICSI devices.
“Microfluidic sorting of unprocessed semen allows for the selection of clinically usable sperm with lower DNA fragmentation than standard processing.” 2

Comparison of MOTILITY between the raw specimen and the semen processed by density gradient centrifugation and by ZyMōt Multi (850µl) devices.
Higher Chromatin Integrity
ZyMōt Multi (850µl) devices “yielded the highest progressively motile spermatozoa characterized by high DNA integrity.”1

The DxNow device yielded the highest progressively motile spermatozoa characterized by high DNA integrity. Couples with unexplained infertility and unable to achieve a pregnancy due to a concealed male factor may benefit from microfluidic sperm sorting to improve their reproductive outcomes. The Acibadem IVF clinic of Turkey reported up to a 50% increase in the pregnancy rates in the first clinical trials using the DxNow devices relative to existing clinical methods.
“Our pregnancy rates have risen by 30% and biochemical pregnancy rates have dropped a lot; fertilizations are above 92% or more! That's why I'm very happy with DxNow’s sperm separation devices.” ―Embryologist Dora Sánchez, Procrea Clinic.
